Action Picks

Matt Hagen's rise from Gotham street kid to leading man gets ripped away by a crime boss, and a cutting-edge treatment sends him down an all-consuming path of revenge. Director James Watkins keeps the horror and sci-fi stakes escalating, and in English in Cologne it lands hard on a big screen. Naomi Ackie and Eddie Marsan sharpen the cast.

Peter Parker fights crime in a world that forgot him, facing a villain no one can even see while a transformation he cannot control drives the set pieces. At 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.0 on IMDb, it delivers the scale a big screen demands, with Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal leading. Screenings are thin this week, so plan ahead to catch it in English in Cologne.
